PAINTING OF VIBRATORY LEO SPIDER
Interview with local young exponent of the figurative

Watching some of the paintings by Leo Spider, a young artist Bisceglie its infancy, is fascinated. It seems that each has been cut the umbilical cord that normally binds to the artist canvas, as if they were actually delivered to us strong and independent.
Born in Milan in 1984, lives in Bisceglie age of 4 years. It is' a degree in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Foggia evaluation 110/110 cum laude. He has participated in numerous art exhibitions and initiatives in the area: Molfetta, Trani, Corato, Bari, plus a few trips for competitions different.

Silvia Lafranceschina: Leo, what kind of artist are you?

Leo Spider: "I like to paint things animate. Basically I call myself a figurative, I have a fondness for portraying the people I know, because this allows me to focus more interior appearance of the person trying to pull out of the aesthetic representation "

SL: What is art?

LR: "Without going into too much technical talk, I believe that art is the result of a process, a process of maturation, the art is closely tied to the history, just like a cartel that has a past. I do not consider art those expressions resulting from an impromptu outburst amateurish. Behind every good piece of art there is always lots of study, there is communicative: a work must be able to tell, knowing how to make sense of itself. They may not necessarily have to be innovative or original, but has grown tired of this obsession with new-may also feel free to say nothing. But a speech is too complex to be summarized in few words.

SL: How did you discover your vocation as a painter?
How did you start painting?

LR: "I've always drawn since childhood. When I had to choose the school to attend, I decided for the high school, because I have always rational, I thought it would be more useful for my future. But I soon discovered that my street could not be mathematics and has re-emerged strongly at the same time the "vocation". Thus, finished high school, I joined the academy "

SL: Your art is experienced in the round, is a process of continuous creation, tireless, daily?

LR: "alternates periods where I work a lot, really produce a lot of material, for others when I stop to reflect on what I did to verify the goodness of the result, or what is in line with the conditions of origin and what is to be rejected "

SL: Looking at your artistic production, we see what are your favorite genres and modes of expression.

LR: "Surely the painting is without a doubt my favorite channel. I look to other painters as well as photography and cinema art forms which relate to the image "

SL: And what about colors?

LR: "I love the monochrome. I myself being the blue! In the words of a psychologist, whose name escapes me now, blue is the color that represents the maternal bond, in Christian symbolism it is the color of the Madonna. Perhaps my tendency to unconsciously blue was a way to feel most pears secure. Once this stage I started to be more realistic use of color, but tend to prefer the simplicity of monochrome painting "

SL: How would you describe your art?

LR: "I am growing, I would not talk about art. However, I am a figurative painting and then I'm interested in reality, especially the human figure. Normally I follow two paths: either bring it faithfully on the canvas or do undergo a process of transfiguration, that is no longer recognizable. But in both cases, both in approach and in the process of removal from mere aesthetics, trying to portray what it brings in those latent "

SL: From the beginning to now what you grew up? And what has changed?

LR: "I have not done so a long way, still in its infancy but it certainly grew up in the way we choose, in understanding what I say and do, increasing the quality of my work. Although it is one thing that I had not thought so far. I recently met a well-established painter and told him I'm going through my phase of research, and he replied: "Me too." The painting, like life, is an inevitable path of continued growth, which is perhaps more difficult to grasp from within. "

SL: Going back to the painting: there is something that characterizes it, which distinguishes it from others?

LR: "Maybe I make use of perspective. The exasperating. I choose unusual points of view of the subject, or take a detail in the foreground while leaving the rest on the bottom, as if it were blurred. I like to explore the possibilities of perspective and use it as a guide channel to bring the viewer into the canvas. "

SL: What are your plans?

LR: "Now I'm working. I recently completed an exhibition in Terlizzi and for the next (if I can find a place to exhibit) I want to bring new material. Anyway, I plan to leave, I would like to relocate to a city that can give me something more. Not because they want to do the usual critical view on the country, but physiologically it is, here there are great possibilities for comparison. Bisceglie has already given me what he could give me "
